From left, Phoebe Taylor, Daisy Burnam and Charity Smith were all recognized at the recent All State Band auditions.A busload of Kearney High School band students demonstrated their mastery in Columbia at the All-State Band auditions on Dec. 6!

Each student auditions against every other All-District musician on their instrument from across Missouri, so the competition is incredibly tough. Kearney High School had three students earn All-State honors:

  • Phoebe Taylor – All-State Flute
  • Daisy Burnam – All-State Honorable Mention Clarinet
  • Charity Smith – All-State Honorable Mention Clarinet
As a member of the All-State Band, Phoebe will attend the Missouri Music Educators Association (MMEA) Conference in January and take part in a four-day clinic that culminates in a performance on Jan. 31.

Please join us in congratulating Phoebe, Daisy, Charity and all of our KHS band students who auditioned. We are proud of their hard work, talent and dedication to representing Kearney High School at the state level! Bravo, Bulldogs!
