2023-2024 ACT Academy

Kearney High School is proud to offer the ACT Academy to our students. Any student who has already taken the ACT and is signed up for an upcoming ACT test can participate in the ACT Academy.

The ACT Academy meets once a week for three weeks leading up to four of the ACT tests. ACT Academy trained teachers lead these sessions, which focus on tips and strategies for taking the ACT.

Our ACT Academy students have an average ACT composite score increase of two points. In our October and November 2016 Academies, our students had many successes with their post-Academy scores, including a few students who qualified for Bright Flight scholarships, 21 students who increased their composite score by three or more points, and one student who raised a composite score by six points.

The cost of the Academy is $40, which covers the cost of books. Students who attend one ACT Academy can attend additional Academies at no cost.

To sign your student up for the next ACT Academy, you can pick up a form in our main office or CLICK HERE to register and pay online. The KHS ACT Academy will take place before the following ACT Test Dates:  October 28, December 9, February 10 and April 13.
